Hi everyone. Today we’re going to be showing you how to do a weekly test on a Gent Vigilon compact panel. So first before we start we need to make sure that we’ve got the panel key and the call point test key. So we’re going to open up our fire alarm panel.
Once inside, you can see there’s a row of function buttons on the top and a row of control buttons on the bottom.
For the weekly test, we’re just interested in the silence alarm button and the reset button. So before we do anything, you just want to make sure you notify everyone in the building that you’re doing the weekly test and also if you are linked to the fire brigade, please let your monitoring station know that you’re carrying out the test.
With our call point key, we’re going to lift the flap on the bottom of the call point. I’m going to insert the key. I’m going to turn it clockwise. It’s going to set our sounders off. I’m then going to turn the key back anti clockwise to the original position. At that point, I’ll be able to reset it on the main panel.
Let’s press the silence alarm button, followed by the reset button. Once the system’s reset, the display will return to normal, we’ve got panel healthy at the top, and you’ll notice all of our LEDs have returned to the normal colours, and we’ve just got the green power LED alert.
That’s the weekly test done. You just need to make sure that you note this in your logbook and that’s it done for a week.
